What's on the wheel
Winners so far
Spin the wheel to settle it: who goes first, where to eat, which name comes out of the hat. Type one entry per line, up to 100, and tap Spin. With six entries each one has a 1 in 6 chance, 16.7%, every spin. It’s free, it works on a phone, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
The wheel starts with six takeaway options, because that argument happens in every house. Replace them with anything you like.
Spin the wheel: what you can do
- Remove the winner after each spin. Turn it on to draw names one at a time, set a running order or hand out tasks with no one picked twice.
- Yes / No. One tap gives you a two-way wheel for a straight decision.
- Shuffle and sort. Shuffle mixes the order on the wheel, sort puts it A to Z. Neither changes anyone’s chances.
Want one option to be more likely? Put it on the wheel twice. “Pizza” on 2 of 7 slices is a 28.6% chance instead of 14.3%.
Is the wheel fair?
The winner is chosen before the wheel moves, by your browser’s secure random generator, and the spin then lands on it. So how hard you tap, or when, makes no difference, and every slice has the same chance. Results don’t run in patterns either. If “Curry” came up three times in a row, it’s still 1 in 6 on the next spin.
Ideas for the wheel
Pick a quiz team captain, choose a film, decide the order for a darts match, or run a prize draw at the office party with “remove winner” switched on. For numbers rather than names, the random number generator is quicker. For a straight heads or tails, there’s the coin flip.
If you came here for the roulette kind of wheel, the roulette simulator plays a full table with play money.
