A Super Yankee calculator is the quickest way to find out what five picks and 26 bets are actually worth. A Super Yankee is a Yankee stretched to five selections: every double, treble, four-fold and the five-fold, with no singles. The free calculator above is set to 50p a bet, £13 in total, on prices from 6/4 to 9/2. Change any result and the return updates.
Super Yankee calculator: the 26 bets
| Part of the bet | Bets |
|---|---|
| 10 doubles | 10 |
| 10 trebles | 10 |
| 5 four-folds | 5 |
| 1 five-fold | 1 |
| Total | 26 |
It’s the same bet many bookies call a Canadian. Some slips use one name, some the other, and they settle identically. Each way doubles the slip to 52 bets, so 50p each way costs £26.
What 50p a line returns
With 6/4, 2/1, 11/4, 3/1 and 9/2 loaded:
- Two winners (6/4 and 2/1): one double, £3.75. Short of the £13 stake.
- Three winners: three doubles and a treble, £28.13.
- Four winners: 11 bets land, £159.13.
- All five: £1,070.75.
So the bet starts paying properly from three winners. That’s the trade-off against a Lucky 31, which adds five singles for another £2.50 and pays something from a single winner. If two from five is the result you most often get, the singles are worth having.
Non-runners, each way and smaller stakes
A non-runner is settled as void, odds of 1.0, in every bet it’s in. Say the 3/1 is pulled out and the first three still win: the four-fold that included it settles as a treble, and the slip returns £60.88 instead of £28.13. The void leg can only help the bets that still have winners in them.
Each way, every combination gets a place version at the terms you pick. With two winners and two placed horses at 1/5 odds, the £26 each way slip returns £18.62. Rule 4 and dead heats are under the extra options.
One fewer pick is a Yankee, one more is a Heinz. The Canadian bet calculator covers the same bet with a different example, and the bet calculator handles every other type.
26 stakes go on one slip. Check the total before you place it. BeGambleAware.org is free and confidential if it stops being fun.
