How do the calculators on CasinoCalcs get their answers? Standard maths, done in your browser, rounded at the very end. Here’s the longer version, including the bits a calculator can’t account for.
Everything runs on your device
When you type into a calculator, nothing is sent to us. The sums happen in your browser with JavaScript, which is why results update as you type and why the tools still work if your connection drops halfway through.
Where the formulas come from
Bet returns follow the way UK bookmakers settle bets: each way splits the stake into a win part and a place part, Rule 4 deductions come off the winnings, and multiples like a Yankee are just every double, treble and fourfold added up. Casino tools use the usual definitions of RTP, house edge and wagering. Poker odds come from counting outs and, where the maths gets messy, from running thousands of simulated hands.
A worked example: a £10 each way bet at 8/1, a quarter the odds for a place, on a horse that places. The win half loses. The place half pays £10 × (8 ÷ 4) = £20 profit plus the £10 stake back, so £30 returned from £20 staked. The calculator does exactly that, only faster.
Rounding
Results are kept at full precision while the calculator works and rounded to two decimal places only when they’re shown. Bookmakers sometimes round down to the penny on each leg of a multiple, so a big accumulator can settle a few pence differently from our figure.
What a calculator can’t see
Your bookmaker’s house rules, for one. Dead heats, void legs, maximum payouts and bonus small print all vary from site to site, and a general tool has no way of knowing which ones apply to your bet.
Prices move, too. The 5/1 you typed in might be 4/1 by the time you place the bet. And probability only describes the long run. A 90% chance still loses one time in ten, and nothing here can tell you which time that’ll be.
Found a mistake?
We test every calculator against hand-worked examples before it goes live, but mistakes happen. If a result doesn’t match your bet slip, send us the details through the contact page and we’ll check it.
