This bet tracker keeps a record of every bet and tells you how you’re really doing. Add the bet, odds, stake and result, and it works out your profit, yield, ROI on your starting bank and strike rate, with a graph of profit over time. It’s free, there’s no sign-up, and your bets stay in your own browser.
Bet tracker numbers explained
Yield
Yield = profit ÷ total staked. Fifty £10 bets is £500 staked. Finish £40 up and your yield is 8%. This is the number serious bettors compare, because it doesn’t care how big your stakes are. Over a few hundred bets, anything above 2 to 3% is good going.
ROI on starting bank
Profit ÷ the bank you started with. The same £40 profit from a £200 bank is 20%. It shows how hard your money is working, but it rises with bigger stakes as well as better bets, so it’s the one to watch for risk.
Strike rate and average odds
Strike rate is the share of settled bets that won. On its own it means little: 30% winners at average odds of 4.0 makes a profit, 60% at 1.50 loses. Look at the two together. To break even, strike rate × average odds needs to be above about 1.
How to use the tracker
- Log bets as you place them with the result set to Pending, then edit them when they settle. Pending stakes are shown separately.
- Use the tag for the sport, the bookmaker or the type of bet. Filter by it to see where you win and where you don’t. Many people find one market does all the damage.
- Cash outs and part returns go in as “Cashed out” with the amount you got back. Voids return the stake and don’t count towards your figures.
- Back up with CSV. The record lives in this browser, so clearing your history deletes it. Export now and then, and import the file on another device to carry on there.
Keeping a record is the fastest way to find out if a strategy works. Most people who track their bets for a month bet less afterwards, which is no bad thing. For settling a bet before you log it, use the bet calculator. To judge a single bet before you place it, try the expected value calculator.
Want the headline numbers from your record? The win percentage calculator turns wins and losses into a strike rate and shows the break-even win rate for your average odds.
Once you have a few hundred bets logged, check whether the profit is real with the luck vs skill calculator.
Doing matched betting rather than straight bets? The matched betting profit tracker fits better: it logs offers and free bets instead of odds and strike rate.
If the tracker shows you’re betting more than you meant to, take a break. BeGambleAware.org is free and confidential if it stops being fun.
