This Yahtzee score sheet keeps score for up to six players and does all the adding up. Type each score into the box as you go and the upper bonus, section totals, grand total and leader update on their own. It’s free, it saves in your browser if you close the page by accident, and you can print a blank score sheet for the next game round the kitchen table.

How Yahtzee scoring works

Upper section

Ones to Sixes: add up only the dice showing that number. Three fives scores 15 in the Fives box. If the upper section reaches 63 or more, you get a 35-point bonus. 63 is exactly three of each number (3 + 6 + 9 + 12 + 15 + 18), so think of three of a kind as par for each box. The sheet shows how many points you still need, which makes it easy to see when four sixes is worth taking.

Lower section

Box What you need Score
Three of a kind At least three dice the same Total of all five dice
Four of a kind At least four the same Total of all five dice
Full house Three of one number and two of another 25
Small straight Four in a row, e.g. 2-3-4-5 30
Large straight Five in a row, 1-5 or 2-6 40
Yahtzee All five dice the same 50
Chance Anything Total of all five dice

Each box is used once. If nothing fits, you have to put a 0 somewhere, and choosing where is half the game. Most good players save Chance for a bad roll and sacrifice Ones or the Yahtzee box late on.

Extra Yahtzees

Roll another Yahtzee after you’ve already scored 50 in the box and you get a 100-point bonus each time. Count them in the “Extra Yahtzees” row. If your Yahtzee box has a 0 in it, there’s no bonus.

What’s a good Yahtzee score?

Played as well as maths allows, the average game scores about 254. Most casual games land somewhere between 180 and 250. Getting the upper bonus is the biggest single swing: those 35 points are nearly as much as a large straight.

No dice to hand? Roll five with the dice roller. For the odds of rolling a particular total, see the dice probability calculator.

Yahtzee is a trademark of Hasbro. This is an independent score sheet and isn’t connected with Hasbro.

Playing Farkle instead? The Farkle score sheet scores the rolls too. For card games, there’s a rummy score sheet.

Another classic dice game for the table: Shut the Box, playable here with a best-move helper.
