Sorted by points, then goal difference, then goals scored, then head-to-head points between the tied teams.
A league table generator for when you already have the results and just need the table. Paste them in as you’d write them, one per line, “Rovers 0-2 United”, and the free generator builds the standings: played, won, drawn, lost, goals for and against, goal difference and points, sorted the way leagues sort them.
How to use the league table generator
- List the teams, one per line. The names in the results must match these, though capitals don’t matter.
- Type or paste the results. “Athletic 1-1 Old Boys”, “Athletic 1–1 Old Boys” and “Athletic 1:1 Old Boys” all work.
- The table updates as you type. A line it can’t read is reported by number, so you can fix the typo.
Points for a win and a draw are set at 3 and 1. Plenty of junior and indoor leagues still use 2 points for a win, and some use bonus points, so change them to match your rules.
How the table is sorted
Points come first. When teams are level, it goes to goal difference, then goals scored, then the points the tied teams took off each other. That’s the order most football leagues use, including in England.
A quick example. Riverside and United both have 6 points. Riverside are +4 and United +3, so Riverside go top. If both were +4, the team with more goals scored would be above. Level on that too, and the result of their game decides it.
Below the table you’ll also see goals per game and the share of home wins. Home teams win roughly 45% of matches in most football leagues, so a figure way off that tells you something about your pitches.
Starting a new league?
If you haven’t got fixtures yet, the fixture generator makes a home and away season with dates and has this same table built in. For a single tournament day, use the round robin generator. Your results here are saved in your browser, so you can add to them each week.
