What’s in the random football player generator
211 players: well over 100 who are still playing in the 2025-26 season, and around 90 legends from Pelé and Lev Yashin to Thierry Henry and Andrea Pirlo. Every big footballing nation is in, with plenty from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The list doesn’t show clubs on purpose. Players move every transfer window, but their country and position don’t change.
- Club: 96 clubs, from the Premier League and Championship to Celtic, Rangers, the Spanish, Italian, German and French giants, and a few from MLS, Brazil and Argentina.
- National team: 61 countries, filtered by region.
- Random XI: 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 3-5-2, 4-2-3-1 or 5-3-2, filled by position with no repeats.
Games to play with it
- Career path: generate a current player and the others have to name three clubs they’ve played for.
- Draft: take turns generating players and keep the best one from every three. Use the Random XI to settle an argument over who drafted better.
- FIFA or FC challenge: generate a club and play your next season with them, or build an ultimate team only from the countries you roll.
- Legends quiz: filter to legends, generate one, and the first person to name a trophy they won gets the point.
