What's on the wheel
Winners so far
A number wheel is the quickest way to pick a random number that everyone can see being picked. Set the range, hit Fill the wheel, and spin. It starts at 1 to 10. Change it to 1 to 30 for a class, 1 to 49 for a lottery-style pick, or 1 to 100 for a giveaway. It’s free, and you can tick “Remove the winner” so the same number can’t come up twice.
Using the number wheel
- Type the lowest and highest numbers and press Fill the wheel. The wheel holds up to 100 slots.
- Tap Spin, or the wheel itself. Each slot has exactly the same chance.
- To draw several numbers in turn, tick “Remove the winner”. Good for running orders, raffle draws and bingo-style games.
You can also edit the list by hand. Add 7 three times and it’s three times as likely, or swap numbers for prizes.
How random is it?
Each spin draws its result from your browser’s cryptographic random generator first, then animates the wheel to land on it. The animation is just for show. A 1 to 10 wheel lands on any given number 10% of the time. Spin it 100 times and you’ll rarely see an even 10 of each, though. Anywhere from 4 to 16 is normal, which surprises people who expect randomness to look tidy.
Need several numbers in one go without the show? The random number generator does lists and no-repeat draws. For names, use the wheel of names, and for quick decisions the yes or no wheel.
