A multi bet calculator works out what your multi pays. Four legs at 1.90, 2.10, 1.65 and 3.00 multiply to odds of 19.75, so $10 on the multi returns $197.51 if all four get up. One loser and it’s gone. The free calculator above is set in dollars and takes decimal odds the way Australian bookmakers show them.
In the UK the same bet is an acca, in North America a parlay. The maths doesn’t change.
Multi bet calculator: adding legs
Add a row per leg, up to 20, and set each one’s result as it comes in:
- Won or pending: counts at full odds.
- Lost: the multi is done.
- Void: a scratching or a washed-out game. The leg counts as 1.00 and the rest carry on at lower odds.
Scratch the 3.00 leg in the example and the multi becomes a treble at 6.58: $65.84 back instead of $197.51.
How fast the odds grow, and the margin with them
Multi odds = odds₁ × odds₂ × … × oddsₙ Return = stake × multi odds
Each leg carries the bookmaker’s margin, and the margins multiply too. Four legs at around 5% each is close to 20% against you on the whole bet. Adding a fifth leg at 1.30 looks almost free, but it adds another cut on top. If one leg is doing very little for the price, it may be better left out.
For legs from the same game, a same game multi is priced differently, because the selections are linked. The bet builder calculator compares that price with the legs multiplied. For tote exotics, the quaddie calculator and trifecta calculator work out flexi percentages.
