Is the top prize better than a jackpot?
It depends how long you live. $1,000 a day is $365,000 a year, and most winners also get the option of a lump sum. The odds are almost the same as 6/49’s classic jackpot, but the prize is fixed, so it’s never split and never rolls over.
The second prize is the hidden gem. At 1 in 2.2 million it’s six times easier than the top prize and still pays $25,000 every year. Play one line every draw (two a week) for 30 years and your chance of at least the second prize is about 1 in 610.
