A Lotto Max odds calculator puts the jackpot in perspective. Since the April 2026 change, a single Lotto Max line has a 1 in 133,784,560 chance of matching all seven numbers. Your C$5 buys four lines, so a play is about 1 in 33.4 million. One play for each of the two weekly draws, for ten years, is 1,040 plays. The chance you hit the jackpot in that time is about 0.003%, and you’d spend C$5,200. The free calculator above shows every prize tier, for Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49 and Daily Grand.
How the Lotto Max odds calculator works
Each tier is a counting problem. Matching x of your numbers when k are drawn from n:
C(k, x) × C(n − k, k − x) ÷ C(n, k)
The bonus number is drawn from the balls left after the main draw, so “+ bonus” tiers take that chance and multiply by how many of your unmatched numbers could be the bonus. Daily Grand is different: its Grand Number comes from a separate 1-to-7 drum.
The three games side by side
| Game | Format | Top prize odds | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lotto Max | 7 from 52, four lines a play | 1 in 33.4 million per play | C$5 |
| Lotto 6/49 | 6 from 49 | 1 in 13,983,816 | C$3 |
| Daily Grand | 5 from 49 + 1 from 7 | 1 in 13,348,188 | C$3 |
Lotto 6/49 and Daily Grand are much easier to win than Lotto Max, which is why their top prizes are smaller (and why Daily Grand pays an annuity rather than a huge lump sum). Any prize on Lotto Max comes up about once every 23 lines, mostly the free play for 3 of 7.
To compare with lotteries elsewhere, see which lottery has the best odds. To pick your lines, the Lotto Max and 6/49 number generator makes Quick Pick style numbers.
Each of the other two games has its own page as well: the Lotto 649 odds calculator and the Daily Grand odds calculator.
